Booking a bike with Tournride: the process in four steps
If you’d rather read it, or want to know what information you’ll need before you start, here are the four full steps of the booking form.
Step 1 — Choose your starting point and date
First, tell us where you want to start and finish pedalling. Tournride delivers bikes to the Camino’s most common centres: Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port (start of the classic Camino Francés), Roncesvalles, Pamplona, Burgos, León, Astorga and Sarria. For the Camino Portugués: Porto and Valença. And for arrival or return: Santiago de Compostela. Enter your delivery date and your return date (at the same centre or a different one), and the system works out your rental days. If you’re coming from outside Spain, factor in your approach journey: many pilgrims fly into Santiago, then take a train or bus to their starting point.
Step 2 — Choose your bike model
Three bike families for three different profiles: full-suspension MTB for riders coming from mountain biking who want the technical tracks; Gravel for those who prefer a balance between track and road; and the Yamaha Crosscore e-bike for those who want to enjoy the scenery without suffering on the climbs. If you’re torn between traditional and electric, our electric vs traditional bike comparison helps you decide based on your fitness level and route. The Yamaha Crosscore RC is our standard e-bike: four assistance modes and a battery with good range for a daily stage, charging overnight at your accommodation.
Step 3 — Add any extras you need
In this step you add whatever will make your Camino more comfortable. The most requested: panniers (recommended if you’re carrying your own luggage), Cancellation Plus (cancellation insurance covering the unexpected), luggage transfer between stages (we take your bag to your next accommodation so you can ride light), picking up the bike at a different centre from where you started, and a basic maintenance kit. If you’re not sure what to pack, our what to pack in your panniers guide covers the essentials.
Step 4 — Payment and confirmation
To finish, you choose your payment method: credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Bizum — Spain’s popular phone-based instant payment app, handy if you or someone in your group banks with a Spanish bank, and increasingly interoperable with sister apps across Europe — or bank transfer if you’re booking far enough in advance. Booking as a group? Each cyclist can pay their own share separately with their own payment link, so no one has to front the bill for everyone. Confirmation arrives at the email you provide, with all your booking details, delivery centres and on-the-road assistance phone numbers. You can change dates or add extras up to a few days before delivery at no cost, according to your booking’s terms. And if you need to move a booking due to unforeseen circumstances, just talk to us directly.
When is a good time to book?
The sooner the better, especially if your Camino falls in high season (Easter, Holy Year, July and August). E-bikes and our busiest centres (Sarria and Saint-Jean) sell out weeks or even months ahead. Our when to book your bike for the Camino de Santiago page has typical lead times by season and early-booking discounts.

Your booking includes Tournride Full Assistance: we help you on the road if anything goes wrong. No deposit when you pick up; we deliver and collect at different centres so you don’t have to return to your starting point. We cover the unexpected with optional cancellation insurance. And we support you in Spanish, English, Italian, Portuguese and Korean, in case whoever’s organising your Camino doesn’t speak Spanish.
